Chinoiserie Sutherland Table by Waring & Gillow C.1910.

Description

Beautiful little Chinoiserie style Sutherland or drop leaf table by the acclaimed British cabinet makers Waring & Gillow c.1910. Stunning paint and lacquer work decorated top with oriental scenes in gold against a black ground. Serpentine shaped edge with moulded detail and painted border. On slim tapering and shaped legs with a pad foot and joined with a decorated stretcher shelf. Original maker’s label to the underside together with the design serial number 22890. A couple of small areas of damage to the lacquered black ground on the middle panel of the top, to the temple roof on the left hand leaf and to the painted border at the corner of the right hand leaf. Otherwise excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.

Dimensions: width 10"/38", depth 30", height 27".
