Description

Very smart looking Edwardian hall wardrobe or cloak cupboard c.1910. Useful narrow dimensions being just 31" maximum width. Superior quality in solid oak with a decorative front featuring good carved detail and an unusual circular Chinoiserie style top panel to the door. Beautifully decorated with an image of an Oriental lady carrying tea amongst trees and plants in gilt lacquer on a black ground (small piece of lacquer missing from the hair). With further Chinoiserie floral detail to the cornice above, reeded sides and raised on tapering turned feet. Inside fitted with a mirror behind the door, hanging rail and original brass hooks. Oak sides and back panel. Original brass drop handle. Other than the damage to the lacquer, condition is excellent, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
