The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The movement is signed AWW Co, Waltham, Mass and it has the serial number 13,416,152 which dates it back to 1903. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is the gold plated Star model by the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The movements would have been imported from the US to be cased and subsequently retailed in the UK. The case has a couple of slight bruises to the front, and some surface scratches, and a small indentation to the back, but overall it is very acceptable for such an early piece.

The watch glass is in good order.
The enamel dial is signed with the Waltham name. There are a few faint hairline cracks. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a short watch chain with a T-bar that fits through a button hole and the pocket watch sits in the pocket directly beneath.
