Elegant Edwardian Solid Silver-rimmed Decanter 1901

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: The Silver Cabinet

A lovely Edwardian sterling silver-topped decanter by Hukin & Heath Ltd, assayed in London in 1901.

This is a ''glug glug'' decanter - so called because of the sound made by the wine as it is poured. It has a squared base, five pour channels and a solid sterling silver twin pouring spout. The decanter is shown with the contents of a standard bottle of wine.

Other than the usual surface marks on the base, it is in excellent condition.

Height: 33.5cm.
