Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
To the front is a long mahogany-lined drawer, whilst the sides and back have false drawers, thus making this table fully free-standing. It is supported on "standard" ends inlaid with ebony stringing and united by a turned stretcher, leading to sabre legs and the set of four very good original brass castors.
Possibly by Trotter of Edinburgh, who often used the "beehive" motif seen here to the centre of the stretcher.
