William James Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
Amazing profile in excellent condition throughout with great colour.

The Chair attributed to Gillows as stamped to the seat rail "PP". This maker although the name unknown was a chair maker for Gillows and is referenced in the Westminster Archives, more information available on request.

The chair has a spurred back leg which is thought to have been made to sit on a rail to keep in position, it is possible this chair was made to be used on a boat. The spurs are thought to be original as the timber quality is the same as the chair.
