Pair of Antique Swedish Satinbirch Bergere Armchairs

1900 - 1920
Description

Very impressive pair of antique Swedish Satinbirch armchairs with very bold frames & superb carving all over. The satin birch has a lovely glow & patina, with plenty of light & dark areas that is so typical of this wood. They have generous proportions all over & are extremely comfortable, because all the new cushions have been lined & filled with plenty of feather & all the bottom springs are good. The thickness of the wood & carvings are exceptional. Please enlarge all the images to appreciate the wonderful details. The images say it all. This is not a model that I can easily find again. They are double caned all over & there is no damage. I would date these to around the 1890-1910 period.
