Description

Fabulous late 19th.c. inlaid oak Arts and Crafts dressing table c.1890. Hinged mirror flanked with two small drawers and shelves and unusual pewter inlaid panels. Over a kneehole table with six drawers featuring exceptional peacock feather motif inlays to the drawer fronts in contrasting timbers and original ironwork. Canted corners to the front and rear of the table surface, overhangs supported with shaped brackets, carved detail to the top of the front staves and a delightful turned feet to each leg. Maker is unrecorded though we believe it to be by Shapland & Petter of Barnstable. Clearly stamped on the reverse with a serial number 1310 3508 5. Excellent colour and condition. Cleaned and polished in our workshops.

Dimensions: width 51", depth 24", height 56".
