Quiet Street Antiques of Bath has dated this piece to the 1800s.
This handsome clock is of white marble and Belgian slate, embellished with ormolu mounts which include an eagle within the pediment; a fountain; an urn of flowers and fruit and a flamingo, whilst there is an ormolu panel of dancing putti to the base.
The enamel dial is perfect as are the delightful ormolu hands.

Signed: Deschamp a Paris to the dial. 15ins wide; 13.5ins high maximum (38 x 34.25 cms). *The Deschamps family were a successful and highly regarded family of Paris clockmakers. Clocks were signed as here from 1823-1853.
