Antique Solid Silver Vinaigrette - Nathanial Mills

This is an excellent example of an antique solid sterling silver vinaigrette.
 
Made by the renowned silversmith Nathanial Mills and hallmarked for Birmingham 1840.
 
It is decorated with a pie crust edge, a floral pattern to the front with empty cartouche and a flower and swags on the back.
 
The gilding inside is good and the hinge is tight. There is a ring for attaching the vinaigrette to a watch chain or chatelaine.
