1950s Roamer Super Shock Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

1950s Roamer Super Shock wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement which is ticking away very nicely and the time keeping is good to within around one to two minutes or so over 24 hours.

The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. As this watch is classed as mid-size it would suit a man with a slim wrist, or it would work very nicely as a lady’s watch. The case is gold plated and if you look closely there is a little wear along some of the angled edges. The case back has details of various brevets (patents) and it also states that the watch is waterproof but, as with any vintage watch, this should not be relied upon.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has great character with the unusual two tone patterning, original dauphine hands and a centre seconds hand. There is a little marking to the dial.

A later red leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
