Antique English Cut Crystal and Silver Plated Biscuit Box C.1890

Description

A hefty piece of English crystal has been used to create this magnificent and unusual biscuit box dating to around 1890, Victorian in era. The cutting is exquisite creating a garland design running around the box.

The fittings are made from English silver plate with a foot, a folding handle and beautifully engraved lids, the fittings are unmarked. In some photos it looks like there is a loss to the silver plate, this is not the case and just reflections. Superb undamaged condition with a lid diameter measuring 8 1/2" x 5 3/4" standing 5 1/2" tall to lids and 8 1/4" tall to top of handle while standing upright.
