A Rare Polished Vickers Machine Gun on Tripod

An extremely rare fully polished Vickers Machine Gun on tripod. In stunning condition this WW2 Vickers .303 Heavy Machine Gun is a fully functional deactivated smooth jacket water cooled model with stamped serial number 'B2085' to the barrel which cocks, strips and dry fires in first class condition. This is a real collectors piece without any dents to the barrel and retains both original carriage boxes one for the tripod and the other for the machine gun. It has been fully stripped and polished to an excellent mirror finish retaining its authenticity unlike some which have been nickel plated. It is fitted with a fully working flip up long range sight and the tripod bears 'No. 6420 RT 1942'. The Vickers machine gun was first brought into operation in 1912 and was the British Army's standard machine gun due to it being so reliable and its quality of manufacture. Various other countries adopted it as first choice with the British Army using it until 1968. This is an imposing piece of memorabilia which now fully polished makes a striking display.
