The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The movement is signed American Waltham USA, Traveler and it has the serial number 17,618,423 which dates it back to 1909. The movement is protected by an inner hinged case which has picked up quite a few scratches over the years.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and it has elaborate CW initials to the front. The case has some surface marks and a little unevenness to the back but overall is in very acceptable condition for such an early piece.
The winding crown pushes down to release the front cover. This reveals a later plastic lens which is in good condition.
The signed white enamel dial has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
