Description

An attractive and good quality 19th.Century Continental burr oak escritoire.The grey variegated marble top with a frieze drawer below. The fall retains the original tooled leather writing surface and opens to reveal a good interior with 1 long drawer supported with an arch and 4 rosewood inlaid corbels which contain sprung mechanisms to open the secret drawers below. The lower part of the interior with 5 drawers and 2 secret drawers. There are 3 oak lined drawers below each with brass escutcheons and the whole standing on a plinth base with turned feet to the front and square block feet to the back. In very good condition with original brass and steel locks all in working order (with keys)
