C19th French 'Grand Tour' souvenir bronze statue , after the antique , "Venus di Milo" by Bardedienne Foundry . Well-cast bronze reduction of the iconic ancient Greek marble sculpture of Venus now housed in the Louvre Museum ,Paris . Bears the signature of Ferdinand Bardedienne Foundry of Paris , and also the seal mark of Achille Collas whose invention of the mechanical pantograph reduction device led to the accurate production of this type of bronze model . Excellent consistent dark 'chocolate' brown patina .
