Having served his time in the Royal Navy,he was trained at the St Martins Art College, moving thence to the Central Art College in London.

Having worked as a Graphic designer for the "Vogue" magazine he took the leap and became a full time artist.

Whilst achieving success (his works are in collections throughout Europe and America), his later life was dogged by ill health and he died relatively young.

This is a beautifully painted large scale landscape oil painting on canvas laid on panel,depicting a winding river through a valley

There is a small punt on the river with a gentleman seen fishing in the calm waters.

The sky adds depth and perspective and the detail seen in the painted foliage of the trees is very much in the manner of the early 19th century period.
