A Fine Small Mid-19th Century French Clock

Description

Another very good quality mid-19th century French MANTLE CLOCK, very heavy and quite small and compact in size.

The case is once again of very good quality ormolu (gilded bronze) surmounted by a hinged carrying handle and with four pineapple finials. To the side are half Corinthian columns with a panel of Vitruvian scrolls inset into the white marble base.

The 8-day movement strikes hours and half-hours on a bell, with silk suspension and outside count wheel. The dial is signed by the maker: Jean Baptiste Le Noir of Paris. Guaranteed at least two years. 11ins (28cms) high; 8ins (20cms) wide.
