Antique Silver 1892 J W Benson Ludgate Pocket Watch

Description

Antique silver 1892 J W Benson Ludgate pocket watch.

The watch has a key winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is within 2 - 3 minutes over a 24 hour period. A winding key is included. The movement is signed The Ludgate Watch. J W.Benson. Best London Make. By warrant to H.M.Queen. Ludgate Hill, London.

The case measures 49.8 mm diameter excluding the stem. The silver case has London hallmarks for 1892 with the case makers mark J.W.B (J.W.Benson). The silver case has light surface marks from use and the odd minor "ding" to the back but overall it is in nice condition for a watch of this age.

The glass watch lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed J.W.Benson, London. The dial is in nice condition.

The watch has a later hour hand although antique.

Price includes worldwide postage.
