Description

Late 18th.c. oak longcase clock by James Worthington c.1790. Square hood with blind fretwork cornice, inlaid stringing and turned columns. Over a slim case with an arched top door with pollard oak cross banding and original star burst inlay in satinwood and mahogany repeated on the base. The carving probably dates from the 19th.century. Brass face with silvered chapter ring, date display and numbered seconds dial (an unusual feature). Crisp engraving, original fingers and name plate. 8 day works, striking on a bell, with original weights and pendulum. Excellent colour and condition. cleaned and polished in our workshops. The works have also been cleaned and overhauled and are sold with a 12 month guarantee. Key and winder supplied.
