Pair of Brass Candlesticks

1900 - 1920
Description

Circa 1910-1940 this pair of quality brass candlesticks were referred to as "Pricket Sticks" because of the spike on the top used to keep candles in place.

They are heavy and well made, and each has three little curved feet and a decorative central column. When placed alongside each other it appears the foot could be adjusted on one of them to keep them in alignment, but it is a very slight difference

They measure 41cm in length and at the widest point are about 12.5cm. Made completely of brass, the decorative piece on the front could be copper.
