Large Japanese Imperial Satsuma Tripod Censor/koro

As part of our oriental collection we are delighted to offer this highly decorative Japanese satsuma koro or censor, this large koro stands on three tall tapering legs and is profusely decorated with brightly enamelled Ho-o birds (Phoenix)in blue and gilt flying between multi coloured flora ,once again decorated in rich Imperial coloured enamels , the onlaid mixed metal lid sits snugly inside a metal lined rim decorated with an outer geometric gilt banding , the underside is signed with an eleven character red signature beside a blue Imperial mon , a really good koro to enhance your Japanese satsuma collection , comes complete in its Tomobako for safe keeping .
The condition is perfect with minor age related wear !
