Exceptional early 19th.c. Biedermeier chest of drawers and dressing table or washstand c.1830. Lift the top to reveal a mirror and original white marble lined washstand on sliding mechanism. Typical for Biedermeier applied decoration and brass work is forgoed in favour of the decorative qualities of the beautiful matched flame mahogany veneers which are arranged in a symmetrical pattern across the drawer fronts. With canted corners, crisp mouldings to the top and plinth, oak drawer linings and original locks. Unfortunately there are some old cracks to the marble (to the upstand centre and right hand pieces.
“
Note the line across the main surface is part of the figuring of the marble not a crack), otherwise excellent colour and condition, cleaned and polished in our workshops.
