Puckerings has dated this piece to the 1920s.

The hinged sterling silver lid is as pretty as you could find, the guilloche enamel being a deep lavender colour with a raised rim finished in black enamel. The silver is hallmarked for Birmingham 1924 with the initials for the maker, Henry Matthews. The original stopper remains intact.
Exquisite in every way, standing 5 1/2" tall.
