Vintage 1939 Elgin Stem Winding Pocket Watch.

Description

Vintage 1939 Elgin stem winding pocket watch.

The watch has a hand winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is within 2 - 3 minutes over a 24 hour period. The movement is signed Elgin Nat'l Watch Co, U.S.A., 17 jewels and the serial number 38308613 which dates the watch to 1939.

The watch measures 50.6 mm diameter excluding the stem and loop. The case was made by the DennisonWatch Case Co and was the Cuprel model. The nickel case is in nice condition with only light surface marks from use. The case back is signed with the retailers name Bravingtons and has the military arrow although this watch was never issued as a military watch .

The watch lens has the odd faint surface mark bur overall it is in nice condition.

The dial is signed Elgin, Made in U.S.A. The dial is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

Price includes worldwide postage.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
