The central vignette featuring the Taj Mahal, whilst the surrounding panels are painted with further views including the Red Fort, Hadirshah Mosque, Dehli Palace ,Golden Temple of Amritsar and Kootuli Pillar. Finely painted in gouache , the detailed views interspersed with fine gold filigree decoration. The plain interior with baize lining. (The panel has a shrinkage crack which runs from "5 o'clock", though no losses). No key. Produced as high-class tourist ware , these high-quality painted ivory miniatures were sought -after souvenirs by visitors to the Indian sub-continent.
