Chinese Travelling Cabinet C.1820.

Description

Ingenious little early 19th.c. brass bound hardwood travelling cabinet of Chinese origin c.1820. Lift and fold the top to reveal a 7" x 10" mirror in a moulded frame. The front hinges open to allow access to 6 small drawers and two compartments with sliding tops. The front features decorative mother of pearl inlays and beautifully shaped and engraved lock plate, latch and drop handles. Further brass bindings and hinges to the sides, back and top and two swan neck carry handles. Original unrestored condition.

Dimensions: width 10", depth 13", height 8".
