An aumbry (or ambry) was originally a term used for a recessed wall cupboard in a church in which were kept consecrated vestments and vessels. In medieval times it began to be used for a domestic cupboards, typically with a ventilated front, in which valuable household objects, wine and food were kept.

A fine 20th.c. example in solid oak throughout with a single piece top and sides. Shaped sides and front, carved and moulded detail and period style wrought iron handle and hinges. With a single shelf to the inside. Oak backboards and floor. Excellent colour and condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
