A Beautiful Burr Walnut & Kingwood Victorian Period Antique Davenport

Description

A beautiful burr walnut and kingwood Victorian Period antique davenport. Having a hinged galleried back cross banded in Kingwood and opening to reveal a fitted stationary compartment with pen tray etc. above the green leather gilt tooled writing surface, which also opens to reveal a birds eye maple interior. One side of the davenport having four mahogany lined drawers, each with beautifully turned and carved drawer pulls and burr walnut drawer fronts. The opposing side having "dummy" drawers. The front having an unusual hinged storage compartment flanked by flat pilasters with carved corbels, the whole supported on a burr walnut veneered plinth with brass and porcelain castors. England circa 1860-1880

Condition: This davenport is in excellent original condition, a wonderful colour and patina. Cleaned and waxed
