JOHN CLAYTON ADAMS: a charming and beautifully executed OIL PAINTING on canvas entitled: "On the River Kennet".

This attractive landscape depicts a typical English country scene, the Berkshire river in the foreground and pastures with cattle grazing behind. Previously with The Williams Gallery of Grafton Street, London W1. Measurements: 27ins x 25ins (68.5 x 63.5cms)

* John Clayton Adams was born in 1840 and exhibited his first painting at the Royal Academy at just 19 years of age. He exhibited a further 75 paintings there, mainly landscapes, between 1863-1893. He died in 1906 after a noteworthy career as a prominent landscape artist.
