Egyptian Applique Work Textile Wall Hanging

1900 - 1920
Description

A large Egyptian applique-work wall hanging, circa 1920, hand stitched on a cotton/hemp back cloth.

These textile wall hangings were popular tourist souvenirs during the 1920's & 30's, particularly following the discovery of Tutankhamum's tomb in 1922. This is a particularly nice example, in excellent condition with colours remaining clear and bright.
