Walnut Bombe Bureau & Display C.1900.

Description

Stunning little bombe bureau bookcase of continental origin, probably Dutch, c.1900. Just 28" wide with a velvet lined display top over a writing bureau with fitted interior of small drawers and pigeon holes over three large drawers. Pronounced bombe shape with beautifully figured walnut veneers with mahogany crossbanding to the fall and drawer fronts. With elaborate gilded brass mounts, handles and escutcheon plates, a carved, pierced and gilded frieze across the bottom and carved and gilded feet. Superior quality with bevelled glass and oak drawer linings. Excellent condition, cleaned and waxed in our workshops. Key supplied.
