Gents 1950s 9 carat gold Smiths De Luxe wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, stamped Made in England, and it is ticking away well and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 30mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs; it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist or it could be worn by a lady. The watch is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1959 with a maker’s mark for the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The case has light surface marks / scratches, mainly to the case back.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial is in its original finish and is in good condition with just slight discolouration. Blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

A new dark brown leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes in a vintage presentation box from the jewellers Camerer Cuss of London; the box is tatty but still nice to have.
