Gents 1950s Smiths Astral Wrist Watch Made in England

Description

Gents 1950s Smiths Astral wrist watch Made in England.

The watch has a hand winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is within 2 - 3 minutes over a 24 hour period. The movement is stamped 15 jewels, Made in England.

The watch measures 32.2 mm diameter excluding the winding crown and 40.1 mm high including the lugs. The chrome plated case has light surface marks and wear from use although it has a good vintage look. The case back is stainless steel.

The watch lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed Smiths, Astral, 15 jewels, shockproof with Made in England at the bottom. The dial is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark.

The watch has its original hands.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
