The bed is made in cast iron, and it is a sturdy piece, the finish has been taken back to bare metal in the industrial antique style so popular at the moment, but this also means the the surface is ready to paint without any further preparation if preferred
The bed comes from the Industrial Times of the 19th Century, we can date it exactly to 1870 by the registration marks on it
The bed is 90” high when assembled, it is 55” wide and takes a mattress 54” x 75” and comes with a new purpose made slatted base
