The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1940s.
The movement is signed Record. It is protected by an inner hinged dust cover which has been engraved and reads, "Imperial Chemical Industries Ltd, Presented to T Ward, for 20 years' service, 1950".

The watch measures just over 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and both of the back covers are hallmarked for Birmingham 1946, with a maker's mark for the English watch case maker Dennison. The case is in very good condition with engine turned detail and a vacant cartouche to the back.

The watch glass is in good order.
The white enamel dial has some faint hairline cracks but not too obvious to the naked eye. Blued steel Breguet style hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
