A very charming example of an early 19th century welsh lovespoon carved from fruitwood, large proportions being 15 inches long;broad back carved with primitive foliate design terminating with an inset glass recess with applied paper of a red flower.long swept open stem with deep spoon (2 minor chips to the end- see photos).delicately carved with a heavy overall feel carved from solid block of timber over 2" thick.

Lovespoons were traditionally created as love tokens to loved ones hence their often unique designs.
