This is an opulent 19th century French gilt cartel wall clock in the Louis XV revival style.

legend 'Le Faucheur Paris'.
The curvilinear form of the scrolled and pierced gilded case is a delight for the eyes with foliage ornament decoration and surmounted by a pair
of asymmetric flower heads.
In good working condition, the clock is driven by a two train spring driven movement designed by renowned horologist S. Marti. Striking on a bell

on the hour and half hour, the movement won him the 'Medaille D'Argent' (Silver Medal) in 1889 and keeps good time to this day. The movement
is stamped with the serial number ‘775 81’.
