Antique Serpentine Chest of Drawers, English Mahogany, Georgian C.1760

18th century
Description

Antique Serpentine Chest of Drawers, English Mahogany, Georgian c.1760

This is an 18th Century, mid-Georgian serpentine chest of drawers dating to c.1760.

A fine example of it's type, this magnificent chest is configured in a '2 over 3' formation of gently graduated drawers delicately strung with holly inlay and complete with original handles and inlaid 'diamond' shaped key escutcheons.

Raised on bracket feet harmonised by a swagged apron, stop ended canted and inlaid corners flank the sinuous curves of the serpentine front.

The mahogany finish displays a wonderful complimentary gamut of light and dark hues set off by elements of cross banding and inlay.

Superb quality and a stunning piece presented in good antique condition. Solid joints and construction. Delivered waxed & polished ready for the home.
