Antique Regency Side Table, English Rosewood Pembroke, Tea Lamp Work Table c1820

This is a fine example of an English, Regency, pembroke, side table dating to c.1820.

The fine figuring to the rosewood top is inlaid with boxwood stringing, a detail picked up in the drawer and also the legs. Beneath the table top is a drawer at one end with a 'false drawer' at the other. Each flanked with decorative, pressed brass rosettes.

The top is mounted to the base by means of four, ring turned, columns with the sturdy plinth, inlaid with boxwood, adjoining four swept legs featuring tapering inlay detail terminating in brass hairy paw feet and original castors.
