Gents 1950 Longines Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

Gents 1950 Longines wrist watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, calibre 12.68Z, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Longines and it has the serial number 7,961,431 which dates it bak to 1950.

The watch measures 32.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The stainless steel case is in good condition with just light surface marks. The inside of the case back has the Longines name, together with the initials EFCo (for Ernest Francillon, the founder of Longines).

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial appears to be in its original finish; there is a little marking / discolouration but all very acceptable for its age.

A later dark brown leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
