A rare find, this design of box must be unique, I haven't come across this style before in all the thousands we have had pass through our hands. Much larger than one would expect from a Regency box, measuring an impressive 15 3/4" x 11 3/4" x 4 1/2" tall. The beautifully shaped lid is decorated all around it's edge and once opened the fabulous original penwork interior can be seen, as fresh as the day it was made nearly 200 years ago.

The ebonised base is beautifully decorated with the original engraved and gilded mounts with four figural mounts to each corner.

The interior has been professionally re-lined in a deep Burgundy velvet to create a fresh and clean finish ready for years of use and enjoyment. Dating to c.1820, this wonderful box is in superb condition. Complete with working key.
