A Gents Ww1 Silver Trench Watch

A gents WW1 silver trench watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around five minutes over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London (import mark) 1915 with an importer’s mark for George Stockwell. The case is in good condition with general light surface marks and a little unevenness to the case back.

The watch glass has some light marks but is very acceptable for a piece of its age.

The white enamel dial is signed Lees & Son, Nottingham; Lees & Son would have been the original retailers of the watch. The dial is in good order with just a very faint short hairline crack between 3 and 4, only visible through a magnifying loupe. Blued steel hands (set by way of the pin set mechanism), a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.
