Description

A large and interesting silk and embroidered picture of a Scottish scene. To the foreground are 2 spaniels and a gentleman in Scottish costume with sword and offering his hand to a lady to disembark a small boat. The mountains and lake painted in watercolour on silk. The figures,dogs,trees,rocks,boat and plants all embroidered. There are 3 or 4 minor splits to the silk but the colour is good and the whole is well framed. This picture is possibly pertaining to Walter Scott's Arthurian poem " The Lady of the Lake". Set around loch Katrine, Scotland in 1810. Size:- Width...31''...78.5cm. Height...25.25''...64cm. Frame depth...2.75''...7cm. Delivery to most of U.K. £35.
