Fine French Miniature Oval Carriage Clock Timepiece

Description

A charming and quite rare late 19th century French miniature OVAL CARRIAGE CLOCK, fully working and in lovely original condition.

The oval case, with its shaped handle, features four curved bevelled glass panels all around and a further oval glass panel to the top. The 8-day timepiece movement retains its original platform escapement and the dial and hands are both original and perfect. The enamel dial is delightfully finished with blue Roman main numbers, and the outer ring of Arabic numerals in red. Marked for the retailers: Friedel, Montreux (Switzerland). Complete with its original leather travelling case and key.
