The Highest Quality 2-door Wardrobe

Status: This item has been sold
Sold by: Waterfall Antiques

A truly superb 19th century two-door mahogany wardrobe. This beautiful example of the very best in English cabinetmaking is attributable to the London maker Holland & Son, suppliers to various royal households including Windsor Castle. A handsome architectural cornice surmounts a full height and full width hanging compartment enclosed by recessed rectangular panelled doors. There is a single drawer at low level with its original Holland-pattern turned knob handles, all supported by a plain plinth base. It has the added advantage of being made to be disassembled thereby enabling its moving up virtually any staircase. An exquisite colour, well-figured timbers, and a most attractive soft lustre shine make this one of the most desirable wardrobes we have ever stocked. It is English, c.1860s.
