Antique Olivewood Stamp Box - Turquoise Beads and Enamel Letter C.1900

Description

A delightful late Victorian double postage stamp box made from Olivewood and probably German or Austrian in origin. The top of the hinged lid has carved leaves with little Turquoise beads creating the flower heads.

In the centre is a little letter / envelope beautifully enameled. The interior has two sloped compartments for stamps.

Dating to around 1900, the box remains in excellent condition, measuring 2 7/8" x 2" x 1 1/8" tall.
