Georgian Cornish Twin Fusee Bracket Clock

Description

A good quality Georgian Cornish twin fusee bracket mantel clock. A mahogany case of good proportions with well detailed brass inlays. Fishscale side sound panels and glass back door. A cast brass bezel with convex glass to the dial with superb blued steel hands. A double fusee mechanism of 8-day duration striking the hours on a bell. Engraved border to the backplate and pendulum.

Henry Harris of Truro is recorded in the 'Cornish Clocks and Clockmakers' book as working at 2, Lemon Street, Truro in 1823.
