Description

A particularly good canteen of cutlery in an unusual cantilevered box. Consisting of 6 dessert forks, 6 dessert knives, 6 fish forks, 6 fish knives, large pair of fish servers and 2 large embossed berry/ dessert spoons. 28 pieces and all having decoratively chased silver plated blades and ivorine handles with silver collars bearing the hallmarks for J.B. - John Biggin Silversmith of Sheffield and the date letter for 1907. The silver plated blades marked J.F. S&S. The superior cantilevered box retaining the original purple velvet and ruched silk lining. The golden oak case with a non engraved brass cartouche, chamfered edging and working lock and key. In excellent original condition. Size:- Width...14.5''...37cm. Depth (closed)...10.75''...27.5cm. Depth (open)...21.5''...55cm.
