Description

An automaton Bristol longcase clock with Adam & Eve moving figures to the arch. A mahogany case of high quality with moulded edging. Barley twist hood columns with corinthian capitals. An arched pediment surmounted by 3 original finials. An arched painted dial with date, seconds and automaton scene to the arch. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours on a bell.

A lovely provenance with a clockmakers label to the door inner and a letter from Clifton church dated 1932 stating the first owners marriage of 1828 when the clock was bought.
